This year I am making my New Years Resolution to do a couple of things that all work hand in hand. This is The first time I am doing this. My credit is beyond bad and my credit cards have very low limits on them.
Instructions
Things You'll Need:
- Credit Card
- White Board
- Access To Credit Statements
- Computer
- A Box For Receipts
- Step 1
Keep better track of finances. Every day of life, people spend money. even if it is 5 or 10 dollars for lunch. But what people don't do every day, is write down how much I spend. why? because it's annoying. this year, start it off right byw writing down every single dollar I spend on a white board. It will be easy. simply save all of my receipts, and put them in a shoe box under the white board. and when there's time, go through them and write them on the board. this way you can see what Is spent.
- Step 2
pay off my credit card and have it be my sole use of finance. This way every dollar spent is recorded not only on the white board, but on the credit card statement received through email, and view it at any time. At the end of every month, pay off my credit card in full. a credit card that only has a 500 dollar limit on it is ideal. so it will be very easy not to spend beyond means. if you have better credit and dont want another large credit card hole in your pocket. get a secured (prepaid) credit card and put 500 dollars on it. It's the same thing essentially
- Step 3
write on my white board exactly what Is spent and for what. So this way, when looking at it, its obvious what really didn't need to be purchased. essentially you want to be able to get rid of purchases like magzines, and small cash register line nick-nacks.
