Ways to advertise for a business in 2010
1. online advertising ( there is a lot of free advertising websites out there / you can also get them to advertise for you in exchange for a link back to their site. Banner Exchange – create a banner with your information and exchange it in the online community. Start a Website in 2010 – This will be my next article to Wright.
2. flyers ( talk to your city about city codes and rather or not your city enforces a permit to advertise door to door)
3. bill boards
4. phone books – take a look at your collection / if you do not know a collection / take a look at your friends / see what other companies in your field is doing / example I found a phone book / that there was no computer repair advertising / I am planning to advertise there, because that would make me the only business in that field / sometimes that can also be a bad thing / maybe the phone book is not used by many / or just a new company.
5. television – News – You can sometimes contact the news / and if they are interested – they will run a short story on your business / there is a lot of businesses out there that will let the media know they are coming to the area / before GRAND OPENING!
6. Radio advertising – advertising on the radio is very difficult, unless you’re in the right market. Here is some information that many companies / even individuals do not know about. You can talk the radio producer or station manager / and tell them about your service or product / and they will give you free air time / in exchange for a great show / with great ratings. I have been considering radio advertising for my business / like start a talk show / help people fix computer related issues. Our local radio station offered me $100 cash in advertising / and then wanted me to sponsor a computer related / product on the show / $100 They were basically giving me a 50/50 cut ( “I scratch your back and you scratch mine” )

14. Get involved with blogs and community boards (do not advertise without cause) this is considered spam and most webmasters and administrators will delete your account or restrict access.
15. Stickers / decals (this is a good idea, because if you fix / repair the customers computer / you can leave a sticker / decal with your logo and company information on it. Next time they need services, than your information is in front of them.
